HR Generalist

About The Role

The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting our employees and fostering a positive work environment that aligns with PACO’s values and goals. This position will involve handling various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, HRIS operations and ad-hoc reporting.

Essential Functions

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and selection
    • Attends campus recruiting events and oversees summer internship program
    • Execute effective onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, collaborating with the new hire’s supervisor and relevant internal teams (IT, Finance, Project Management etc.)
    • Looks for and implements opportunities to continuously refine and improve the hiring and onboarding experience
  • Employee Engagement and Development:
    • Serve as a point of contact for junior employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed
    • Collaborate with Director of People and Culture to address employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment
    • Works closely with Fun & Culture committee to plan agency-wide events and celebrations
    • Assist in conducting needs assessments to identify skills/knowledge gaps among employees and identify appropriate training and professional development opportunities
    • Coordinate training, including identifying trainers, scheduling sessions, booking venues, and arranging materials
  • Performance Management:
    • Support operational aspects of the performance management process
    • Assist in identifying training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and performance
  • Benefits Administration
    • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers for junior team members, resolving issues and answering questions
    • Collaborate closely with Director of People & Culture to coordinate the annual open enrollment process, including communication to employees, distribution of enrollment materials, and assistance with benefit elections
    • Serve as a resource for employees during open enrollment, answering questions and providing guidance on available benefit options
    • Consult with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely enrollment and changes to employee benefits
  • HR Policies and Compliance
    • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, keeping them up-to-date and accessible to employees within PACOs Employee Handbook
  • HR Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases
    • Generate ad-hoc reports and analyze HR data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR related position including recruiting specific experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Critical thinker and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
