In 2021, Oportun planned to increase their footprint from 12 states to 31. They needed to introduce themselves to millions of new customers, establish trust, and promote their personal loan and credit card services in a highly competitive market– all while maintaining their existing core audience.
Their approach was designed to be inclusive, afordable, and empowering. By lending money to hardworking, low-to-moderate-income individuals, they wanted to help customers move forward in their lives. All while demonstrating their creditworthiness and establishing the credit history they would need in order to access to new opportunities.
We launched the “Make it Happen” campaign to show our audience how easy and within their reach it was to secure a personal loan with Oportun regardless of how insane or mundane their dreams were. A series of executions (TV, direct mail, and social media) demonstrated those dreams turning into realities in spectacular and memorable ways.
